GFC Hair Loss Treatment in Bangalore

GFC, or Growth Factor Concentrate, is prepared from a small sample of your own blood and injected into the scalp to support thinning follicles. It is a more concentrated preparation than standard PRP, and every session here is performed by a doctor.

Is this you?

I have already tried PRP elsewhere and want to know what else there is.
My hair is thinning at the crown and I want to act while there is still hair there.

What it does for you

A more concentrated preparation than standard PRP

GFC isolates the growth factors released from your platelets rather than injecting the platelet fraction whole, which is why a course is usually shorter than a comparable PRP course.

Prepared from your own blood

Around 10ml is drawn, processed in-clinic and returned to your scalp. Nothing synthetic is introduced.

No surgery, no recovery period

Delivered through fine needles after anaesthetic cream. There is nothing to recover from and most patients return to work straight away.

Suited to early and moderate pattern loss

GFC acts on follicles that are weakened but still active, in both men and women, which makes the earlier stages of pattern hair loss the best candidates.

Sessions are short

The procedure itself takes around 30 minutes including preparation, so it fits into a working day.

Reviewed against a baseline

Scalp photographs are taken before the first session and compared at review, so any change is measured rather than recalled.

How the treatment works

1

Consultation and screening

A doctor examines the scalp, reviews medication and history, and confirms GFC is appropriate for your stage of hair loss.

2

Preparation

Anaesthetic cream is applied for 30 to 45 minutes while around 10ml of blood is drawn and processed.

3

Scalp injection

Roughly 4 to 5ml of growth factor concentrate is injected across the thinning areas with fine needles.

4

Course and review

Four to six sessions are typical, with density reassessed against your baseline photographs at around three months and maintenance sessions every two to three months thereafter.

Questions patients ask

How is GFC different from PRP?
Both start from your own blood. PRP injects the concentrated platelet fraction; GFC processes it further to isolate the growth factors those platelets release. In practice a GFC course is usually shorter, though which suits you depends on your scalp and is decided at consultation.
How many sessions will I need?
Four to six sessions is typical, followed by maintenance roughly every two to three months. The number is not fixed at the start — protocols are reviewed at the three-month mark against your baseline photographs and adjusted from there.
Does it hurt?
Anaesthetic cream is applied for 30 to 45 minutes beforehand, so most patients describe pressure rather than pain. Mild soreness, redness or itching for a couple of days afterwards is normal.
When will I see a difference?
Reduced shedding is usually the first change patients notice. Visible density takes months because hair grows slowly, so comparison photographs are taken at three months. Regrowth cannot be guaranteed and depends on how much active follicle remains.
Is there any downtime?
No. You can return to normal activity the same day. Exercise, swimming, steam and direct sun are avoided for two days, and hair products for six hours.
Who should not have GFC?
It is not carried out during pregnancy or breastfeeding, while you are on antibiotics or blood-thinning medication, or where there is an active scalp infection. Disclose all medication at consultation.
Will GFC work on a completely bald area?
No. GFC supports follicles that are still present and active. Areas that have been bare for years are unlikely to respond, and your doctor will say so at consultation.
