What Changes the Cost of Microneedling with Dermapen in India

Microneedling is quoted per session and planned as a course, which means the number that actually decides your total is the session count — typically six to eight, depending on the concern. That figure is set after a doctor has looked at your skin, not before, so a total quoted in advance of an assessment was decided commercially rather than clinically. The other movers are the area being treated, the depth the concern requires, and whether anything is being infused alongside the needling.

Our own per-session starting figure is published on the Microneedling with Dermapen treatment page. This page is about what moves it, which is the part no price list explains.

Why is it priced per session rather than per course?

Because the course length is a clinical finding, not a product tier. Six to eight sessions is the documented range, and where you land inside it depends on what is being treated: post-acne scarring is a different proposition from open pores or dull texture.

Publishing a per-session figure and settling the count afterwards is the honest order. The alternative — a course price quoted up front — requires someone to decide how many sessions you need before examining you, and that is a decision being made by a price list.

So when you compare two quotes, the first question is not "how much" but "how many, and who decided".

What actually moves the number?

The session count, which is the big one. Everything else is a rounding adjustment next to six versus eight sessions. Ask what count you are being planned for and what would change it.

The depth the concern requires. The needle depth is set to reach the layer where collagen and elastin are made, and deeper work for scarring is a different setting from shallow work for texture. Depth is a clinical decision made per area, which is also why this is a doctor-performed treatment here rather than a menu item.

The area, and whether it is face or body. Stretch marks are dermal scars and respond to the same remodelling — on the body as well as the face. A body area is not priced like a patch of cheek, and "microneedling" quoted without an area is not a quote.

Whether anything is infused alongside it. This is the driver most often missed. Microneedling on its own and microneedling paired with PRP Vampire Treatment are two different services priced separately, because the second involves drawing and spinning your blood as well as the needling. If a quote says only "microneedling", ask which one it is. People compare the price of one against the price of the other and conclude a clinic is expensive.

The consumable per session. The Dermapen uses a sterile single-use tip, so each session carries its own consumable rather than amortising one across a course. That is a real part of why the per-session figure is what it is, and it is also a reasonable thing to ask a clinic to confirm: a tip is single-use or it is not.

Who is performing it. Depth and settings are judgement, and here the treatment is performed by a doctor, always. That is part of what the figure covers, not an optional extra to decline for a discount.

What should a quote include?

Ask whether the numbing is inside the figure — topical anaesthetic goes on 15 to 20 minutes before the session, so it is part of the appointment rather than an add-on in principle, but confirm it. Ask whether the review appointments across the course are included. Ask what happens if the doctor revises the session count mid-course, which is a fair thing for them to do and an unfair thing to discover on an invoice.

And ask what is not included. A quote that covers the needling but not the consultation that decides the plan is only part of a price.

Why will this page not give an all-India range?

Because we do not hold that data, and assembling one from whatever is published online would read as authoritative without being so. On a medical treatment that is not a trade worth making.

What we can tell you is our own per-session figure, which is on the treatment page, and the variables above — which are the same variables wherever you have it done. If a clinic elsewhere quotes you more or less, it is almost always the session count, the area, or whether something is being infused alongside.

Does a cheaper quote mean a worse treatment?

Not on its own. A smaller area costs less and a shorter course costs less, both legitimately. What a low figure should prompt is the comparison question rather than a conclusion: how many sessions, what area, what depth, what is infused, what is included.

One thing is worth being firm about, though. Because this treatment works through your own repair response — nothing synthetic is placed in the skin — the result depends almost entirely on the depth being right for the concern. A quote that is low because the depth is being treated as a default setting is not a saving.

Does being in Bangalore change it?

Not the clinical variables. What it changes is the calendar, and the calendar is part of the cost. Six to eight sessions spaced across months means six to eight appointments, each followed by redness, mild swelling and flaking that usually settles within a day. That day wants to be unremarkable — not an outdoor function, not a long commute in afternoon sun.

Budget the diary alongside the money. A course abandoned at session three because the weeks never worked is the most expensive version of this treatment.

What if something else fits better?

Then the honest comparison is the treatment against your complaint, not price against price. A Chemical Peel works at the surface and runs as its own course with its own assessment and patch test; microneedling works in the dermis where scars sit. If your concern is shallow pigmentation rather than scarring, those are different tools and a clinic willing to say so is saving you a course.

Getting a real number

Bring any quote you have and ask the five questions above about it. The consultation fee is waived against treatment if you go ahead, at either our Bellandur or Indiranagar clinic. Book an appointment and you will leave with a session count attached to your skin rather than to a package.
