PRP and GFC both start from a sample of your own blood, which is processed in-clinic and returned to your scalp. Exosomes are prepared in a laboratory instead — typically from stem-cell culture — so there is no blood draw, and the concentration of growth factors and signalling molecules is higher than a blood-derived preparation typically reaches. The trade-off is honesty about evidence: PRP and GFC have been used for longer, while the research base for exosomes is newer and still growing. Which suits you depends on your scalp and your preferences, and is decided at consultation, not before it.
Where do the exosomes come from, and is this safe?
The preparations used are lab-derived, most commonly from stem-cell culture lines, processed and screened by their manufacturer. Nothing is drawn from your body and nothing surgical is involved — delivery is through fine micro-injections after numbing cream. As with any newer treatment, we discuss the specific product used, its source and its screening openly at consultation, and every session is performed by a doctor.
When will I see results?
Reduced shedding is usually the first change patients notice.
