Bangalore's Wedding Season: When Clinics Get Booked Out

Wedding season in Bangalore concentrates demand into a few stretches of the year, and the treatments people want beforehand are courses rather than single appointments. Microblading involves a touch-up. Lip micropigmentation has a six-week touch-up built into it. BB Glow runs to several sessions spaced about a fortnight apart. The diary fills, and the timelines do not shorten to compensate.

That second half is the part worth planning around. A clinic can add capacity. Nobody can add capacity to a six-week interval.

Why does the diary fill rather than simply get busier?

Because each booking is not one slot. When someone books lip work, they are also booking a specific appointment six weeks later. When someone starts a BB Glow course, they are booking four to six appointments at roughly two-week intervals. A single enquiry lands on the calendar as a block of future dates, and dozens of those blocks arriving in the same few weeks is what closes off the run-up to a date rather than the date itself.

The practical consequence: the appointment that becomes hard to get is rarely the first one. It is the follow-up that has to land on a particular week.

How much lead time does each treatment actually need?

Here is what our own protocols document, without rounding in anyone's favour.

Eyebrow microblading — the session itself is under two hours. Aftercare is light but real for the first week, brows look slightly darker for the first few days and settle within a week or two, and there is a touch-up afterwards to perfect the finish. You are planning around a healing week and a second appointment, not around a two-hour slot.

Lip micropigmentation — one primary session, again under two hours, plus a touch-up at six weeks. Downtime is minimal and most people return to normal activity the same day, but the six-week touch-up is a fixed point. If it needs to happen before your date, count backwards from the date, not forwards from today.

BB Glow — usually four to six sessions, spaced about two weeks apart, each about an hour including skin preparation. That is six to ten weeks of appointments before the course is even complete.

Add those up and the treatments people think of as "quick things before the wedding" occupy somewhere between a fortnight and three months of calendar.

What does booking too late actually cost you?

Not the treatment. You can usually be seen. What you lose is the room the protocol was designed around.

Booked late, a first-ever pigment procedure happens with no space for the touch-up that perfects the finish, and no margin if healing takes the longer end of the range rather than the shorter. Booked late, a BB Glow course gets truncated to whatever fits, which is not the course. Booked late, you are doing something new to your face in the week you can least afford a surprise.

The honest answer to "can you fit me in" is often yes. The honest answer to "can we complete this properly by then" is sometimes no, and that is the question worth asking.

Can you book too early?

For some things, yes, and this catches people out because it feels like the responsible option.

BB Glow results last around four to six weeks, with maintenance every four to five months. Finishing the course three months before the wedding means the effect window has largely passed by the time the photographs happen. The course needs to land near the date, not safely away from it.

Pigment work behaves differently — microbladed brows hold for 24 months or more depending on your skin type and aftercare, and lip colour is designed to last with a touch-up perfecting the finish, so early is genuinely fine there. But "book everything as early as possible" is not a single rule that works across all three.

Should I schedule anything in the week of the event?

Not a first-time procedure, no. Brows are slightly darker for the first few days. Both pigment procedures come with a written aftercare sheet covering what to expect day by day, and following it during a week of functions and travel is a difficult ask. Whether something lighter is reasonable that week is a question for your practitioner, with your actual dates in front of them.

I am already inside the window. What now?

Bring the date to the consultation and let it drive the plan rather than the other way round. Some of this genuinely fits into a short run-up and some of it does not, and which is which depends on what you want, what your skin is like, and how many weeks are actually left. That triage is exactly what a consultation is for — ₹500, waived against treatment.

What we will not do is compress a protocol to make a date work. The interval is part of the treatment.

What should prompt a call while you are healing?

If you are having pigment work done in the run-up to an event, you are also healing in the run-up to an event, and that is the moment people most want to tell themselves something is fine. Please contact us instead of deciding for yourself.

Ring the clinic if:

• redness spreads outwards instead of settling
• swelling increases after the first couple of days rather than easing
• the area feels hot, or produces discharge
• pain increases after the first two or three days
• a rash, spreading itch or blistering appears
• you develop a fever or feel unwell in yourself
• healing has not followed the timeline on your aftercare sheet

None of that is a list to diagnose yourself against, and it is not complete. Some of these overlap with things unrelated to the procedure entirely. They are simply reasons to be seen quickly, which matters more, not less, when there is a date coming. If you are feverish or genuinely unwell, seek medical care the same day.

What to book first

The consultation, and earlier than feels necessary. It is the appointment that tells you whether your date and your plan are compatible, and it is the one that sets every other date in the sequence.
