What it is

An intravenous infusion of antioxidants and skin-supporting vitamins, given by a doctor in clinic, aimed at skin radiance and general wellbeing.

Why this page will not list ingredients

Because the formulation is chosen for you at consultation rather than being a fixed recipe, and our treatment page does not publish a standard composition.

Rather than print a plausible-looking ingredient list, the useful thing is to tell you what to ask:

• What exactly is in the drip you are proposing for me?
• Why those components for my concern?
• What is the dose of each?

You are entitled to those answers before an infusion, and a clinic should give them without hesitation.

Why intravenous rather than a tablet

Oral supplements pass through the digestive system, where absorption varies a great deal between individuals and between nutrients. An infusion delivers the dose directly into the bloodstream.

That is the genuine mechanical argument for the route. It is an argument about absorption, not about the ingredients being different in kind from things you could otherwise take.

What it is not aimed at

It will not lighten your skin. Glow drips are aimed at radiance and skin quality rather than at changing your natural skin colour.

If skin tone is your main concern, our treatment page's position is that your doctor will discuss what is realistic and which treatments actually address it — which is a more useful conversation than an infusion sold on the wrong premise.

Safety

Generally safe when given by qualified medical staff after a proper assessment — and that assessment is what rules out the conditions and interactions that make an infusion inadvisable.

Recognised effects: discomfort at the cannula site, transient sensations during the infusion, infection or inflammation at the site, and situations where an infusion is not appropriate at all.

Practicalities

Usually under an hour once the line is in, depending on the formulation and the rate it is run at. Allow longer for a first visit, which includes the medical assessment. No downtime — the cannula site may be tender or bruised for a day or two.
