How long does BB Glow last?
A completed BB Glow course typically holds its effect for about four to six weeks, with maintenance every four to five months. It fades gradually rather than stopping, and sun exposure, oily skin, exfoliating actives and frequent cleansing all shorten it. Claims that BB Glow is permanent are not accurate — the pigment sits in skin that renews itself continuously.
The numbers
The treatment core puts it plainly: a course is usually four to six sessions about two weeks apart, the result holds around four to six weeks, and maintenance runs every four to five months. Those are the figures the clinic works to, and they are averages — skin is not uniform.
Why it fades at all
The tint sits in the upper layers of the skin, and those layers renew themselves constantly. Every cycle carries a little of the pigment away. That is also why it cannot be permanent: to last indefinitely the pigment would have to sit deeper, which is a different procedure with a different risk profile altogether.
What makes it fade faster
- Sun exposure, by a wide margin. It accelerates cell turnover and drives the pigmentation you were trying to even out in the first place. Daily sunscreen is not optional aftercare here; it is the single biggest lever on how long the result holds.
- Retinoids, AHAs and BHAs. They work by speeding up turnover, which is precisely what removes the tint. Time them around your sessions rather than abandoning them.
- Oily skin and heavy cleansing. More frequent washing, hot water and scrubs all shorten it.
- Skipping sessions. A partial course fades noticeably faster than a completed one, which is worth knowing before committing to the first appointment.
Aftercare in the first week
Leave the skin alone for the first 24 hours — no makeup, no washing the face for the rest of the day, no gym, no steam, no swimming. Cleanse gently from day two, keep it hydrated, and go back on sunscreen as soon as the skin tolerates it. Hold off actives and exfoliation for about a week, and do not pick the flaking.
If you want longer-lasting evenness
Then BB Glow is probably not the right tool, and it is worth saying so. Tone that keeps returning is usually pigment that has never been treated — chemical peels and Q-Switch laser work on the cause, and a medical facial maintains the result between them. A doctor at either clinic will tell you which of these your skin actually needs. The consultation is ₹500, waived against treatment.
