Hydra Medi Facial Aftercare: The First Week, Day by Day

You can go back to normal activity the moment you leave. The whole of the aftercare is this: skip the gym for about two days while the skin regenerates, wear sunscreen every day of the week that follows because freshly exfoliated skin burns more easily, and use whatever home-care products you were advised so the result carries through to your next monthly session. Mild redness or itching can happen and settles quickly.
Short list, and that is genuinely the point of this treatment. But "no downtime" gets misread as "nothing to do", and the week after your appointment is precisely when several weeks of result get either protected or wasted. Here is the week, in order.
What should I do on the day itself?
Very little, deliberately.
Sunscreen went on before you left the clinic — that is the last stage of the protocol, not an upsell at the counter. Reapply it as you normally would if you are outdoors. Beyond that, go to work, meet people, get on with the day. Skin usually looks clearer and brighter immediately, which is the reason so many people book this before something.
Two things worth resisting. The first is improvising on top of the home-care products you were told to use, because your skin has just had a full protocol and today is not the day to add something to it. The second is a workout, for the reason in the next section.
Why the wait before exercising?
We ask you to hold off on exercise for a couple of days while the skin regenerates. Two days, not two weeks — set the expectation correctly and it is easy to plan around. Book a Friday appointment if your weekend is the only time you train.
That guidance covers the sweaty, heat-generating end of the spectrum. Walking to the shops is not exercise for these purposes.
Is redness on day one normal?
Mild redness or itching is uncommon, and short-lived when it does occur. If it is settling as the hours pass, that is what it is supposed to do.
The line that matters is this: if redness persists beyond a day, or the skin feels genuinely irritated rather than briefly sensitive, tell the clinic rather than treating it at home. Not because it is likely to be serious, but because guessing at a remedy from your bathroom cabinet is how a small reaction becomes a bigger one. Call us. It costs you a phone call.
Days two and three — what changes?
By now the exercise pause has run its course and you can train normally again.
Two habits earn their keep across these days. Keep using the home-care products you were advised, because they are what hold the hydration in — the treatment finished with a moisturiser and a seal for exactly that reason, and abandoning moisturiser on day two undoes the last stage of the appointment. And keep the sunscreen going, which brings us to the part of the week that actually matters.
Why is sunscreen non-negotiable for the whole week?
Because exfoliation was part of the treatment, and freshly exfoliated skin burns more easily than skin that has not been touched. That is why sunscreen is applied before you leave the clinic and why it is not optional for the following week.
In Bangalore this is a year-round instruction rather than a summer one. There is no low-UV season here to relax into, the sun works through cloud on a monsoon afternoon, and the commute is where most people get their exposure without ever deciding to be in the sun. Reapply on a long day out.
Skip this and you have not just risked a burn — you have spent money on brightening a face that is being dulled again from Monday.
Days four to seven — will anything flake?
No shedding is expected. The acid stage in a Hydra Medi Facial is a facial-strength pass that softens what is blocking pores; nothing is left on long enough to cause flaking. If you were braced for a week of peeling skin from something you read about clinical facials, you can stop bracing.
This is the stretch where most patients notice the texture change settling in rather than fading: refined texture and a more even, radiant tone, holding for several weeks with proper home care.
What if my session included the complimentary peel?
Every session here comes with a complimentary chemical peel, a ₹1,999 treatment on its own, and a peel has its own separate aftercare that your doctor will go through with you. In broad terms it asks for more than the facial does: broad-spectrum sunscreen daily and staying out of direct sun and heat while the skin settles; no waxing, threading or bleaching for a week; no Retin-A or other sensitising products for seventy-two hours; and no picking, peeling or scratching at treated skin — let it shed on its own and keep it moisturised.
If those instructions and the ones above seem to disagree, follow what you were told in the clinic. Your doctor knows which peel was used and at what strength; a web page does not.
Is there anything I should not book this week?
Use common sense about stacking treatments. If you were planning something that works deeper — a full peel course, or BB Glow, which infuses a tinted serum into the upper layers with a micro-needling pen — raise it at your consultation and let the sequence be planned rather than improvised. There is no prize for compressing three treatments into one week.
When do I come back?
One session a month is the schedule we recommend, because this is maintenance and the benefit comes from regularity rather than from any single visit. Sessions start from ₹2,999 per treatment, with the peel included each time.
If anything about the week has felt off — redness that has not settled, skin that feels tight or reactive — bring it up before your next appointment rather than at it. You can read the full protocol on the Hydra Medi Facial page, or book your next session at Indiranagar or Bellandur.
