What is Lip Micropigmentation?

Micropigmentation, also referred to as lip blushing, permanent makeup, or lip tattooing, is a cosmetic procedure aimed at enhancing or replacing lost coloring on the skin. This technique involves the superficial injection of color ink into the lips and along the lip line to improve the overall appearance.

To achieve natural-looking results, the color is carefully selected and toned. Micropigmentation is commonly performed on the lips to enhance their appearance.

The Aesthetic Edge Lip Blushing Treatment Process

BEFORE
  • Refrain from electrolysis for at least one week before the procedure.
  • Inform your doctor about any prior lip surgeries.
  • Avoid consuming antibiotics, blood thinners, steroids, and antacid drugs before the treatment.
  • If you experience dry skin on your lips, ensure they are well-hydrated and soft before the procedure.
  • Abstain from alcoholic drinks for at least 24 hours before the treatment.
DURING
  • A topical anesthetic will be administered to numb the area and ensure your comfort during the treatment.
  • The procedure is performed using a pen-like instrument or a traditional tattoo gun.
  • The needle will penetrate a few millimeters into the skin layer, and an iron oxide pigment will be injected.
  • Your doctor will provide you with an antiseptic to maintain cleanliness in the treated area following the procedure.
AFTER
  • If needed, you can apply ice to reduce swelling in your lips.
  • Your lips will start to heal over the next week, which may lead to scabbing.
  • It is important to allow the scabs to heal naturally.
  • Refrain from picking at them, as this could result in scarring or pigment loss in the treated area.
  • Avoid intense workouts and sun exposure for two weeks.
  • Refrain from receiving any lip injections for one month.
  • Avoid sleeping on your face or applying pressure to the treated area.
  • Follow your doctor’s instructions to ensure proper hydration of the lips.
