- If you have a glycolic acid allergy, inform the dermatologist immediately.
- Prior to the procedure, avoid waxing and bleaching.
- Refrain from using exfoliating scrubs and products with benzoyl peroxide for at least 48 hours before treatment.
- The doctor will assess your skin type, tone, and texture before recommending the appropriate treatment.
- A patch test will be conducted to evaluate your response to the chemical agent.
- Before the Chemical Peel session, the doctor will cleanse the treatment area.
- The chemical solution is applied using a brush. • The duration of the peel varies (3 to 5 minutes) based on the type of solution used.
- Some mild discomfort may be experienced during the application of the chemical solution.
- A neutralizing solution is applied to remove the peel.
- Post-treatment, the doctor will use cool compresses to soothe the skin, followed by the application of hydrating cream and sunscreen.
- It is essential to avoid sun and heat exposure during the healing process.
- Apply a broad-spectrum sunscreen throughout the day.
- Refrain from waxing, threading, or bleaching the treated area for a week.
- Avoid using Retin-A or other sensitive products on the treated area for 72 hours after treatment.
