The aging process can result in the loss of subcutaneous fat on your face, affecting areas from the cheeks to the sides of your lips. Fillers, gel-like substances, are injected beneath the skin to smooth facial creases, restore lost volume, and enhance contours, thereby contributing to the restoration of youthful skin.
Commonly referred to as Dermal Fillers, these substances are utilized to address lines around the nose and mouth, including marionette lines, smile lines, and parentheses. Dermal fillers are also employed to augment and replenish volume in the cheeks or temples, reduce vertical lip lines, add fullness to and enhance lips, and enhance symmetry among facial features through facial contouring.

The Asthetic Edge - Dermal Fillers Treatment Process
• Refrain from consuming alcoholic beverages for a minimum of 24 hours before the treatment to reduce the risk of bruising, as alcohol can thin the blood.
• Avoid any anti-inflammatory or blood-thinning medications for at least two weeks prior to the treatment.
• Ensure you have a substantial meal before the procedure to minimize the possibility of feeling lightheaded.
• Confirm that there is no infection, injury, bruising, or wound on or around the injection site.
• Consult with your medical healthcare provider if you have an active infection, allergy/hypersensitivity to the filler, glabellar necrosis, active herpes, keloids, cancer, or allergy to lidocaine, among other concerns.
• Inform your doctor if you are currently taking any blood thinners or anticoagulants.
• An anesthetic cream will be applied for a duration of 30-45 minutes.
• The designated areas of your face will be marked, and our aesthetician may capture photographs to thoroughly assess your skin for a comprehensive 360-degree treatment.
• Based on the marked areas, a gel-like substance will be injected into the skin. The duration of the entire process may range from 15 minutes to an hour, depending on the number of areas being treated.
• Following the injection, the treated areas are cleansed, and an ointment is applied.
• If you experience swelling or discomfort, an ice pack will be provided to alleviate pain. However, any discomfort is expected to subside within a couple of hours.
• Complete recovery of the treated areas is anticipated within 1-2 days.
• Refrain from rubbing or massaging the treated areas for the next 24-48 hours.
• Avoid steam, sauna, or any facial treatments for at least fifteen days.
• Steer clear of strenuous or vigorous activities for the next 72 hours.
• Minimize exposure to sun or heat for the next 72 hours.
• If there is any swelling, try to sleep facing up and keep the face slightly elevated.
Risks & Side effects of Dermal Fillers Treatment
Skin rash – While it is highly unlikely, a skin rash may occur if you are allergic to any of the substances used in the injections. Please contact our doctors if symptoms persist.
Swelling in the target areas – Swelling is entirely normal and is expected to subside within a few hours following the filler procedure.
Redness – Following the filler injections, you may experience some redness in the target areas, which is expected to subside after a few hours.
Slight wound or infection – While an infection after a filler injection is extremely rare, please contact our doctors if your symptoms persist.
